The contrast of this bar pattern alternates as it drifts. This creates what is called a reverse phi stimulus. The bar width and movement per frame is defined in terms of pixels, thus avoiding the complications of anti-aliasing. Bar orientation currently must be vertical, either 0 or 180 deg for rightward or leftward motion, respectively. For comparision, see the standard drifting version of this stimulus, barpatmo.
