V5_ME   This model for MT pattern and component cells extends and modifies that of Rust et al. (2006) by replacing the original direction tuning curves, which represented V1 cells, with a bank of Gabor motion energy filters. This modification allows the model to process arbitrary time-varying stimuli. This model, like that of Rust et al., is able to approximate the responses of both pattern and component cells, depending on the parameter settings.
